Gdańsk Shakespeare Theatre is one of the most unique venues in the world. It is the only theatre worldwide equipped with opening roof for performing in the open air. Moreover, it is equipped with a trapdoors system that allows to implement multiple seating configurations, such as Italian, Elizabethan or arena. The Theatre carries on the legacy of Shakespeare Festival that has been held in Gdańsk for over 20 years. Patron of this place is Prince Charles.

This is one of the prestigious projects that we have participated in as an integrator of multiple theatre technologies. Konsbud Audio delivered and installed electroacoustic devices, upper stage machinery and stage lighting system. In order to execute this complex operation comprising all technologies crucial for artistic performance of theatre plays, we had to use our impressive experience in engineering and planning and logistic skills. Because of the flexibility of the theatre in terms of multiple configurations, we had to design an extremely versatile sound amplification system. Adding supplementary sound reinforcement solutions on three levels of balconies set one above another was additional challenge. The top-quality audio reinforcement system that we have implemented in the theatre is incredibly flexible, and enables holding multiple types of events, ranging from performances, conferences, lectures, banquets, up to recitals and concerts.
