On 8 January 2016, one of the leading edge European planetariums and at the same time the most advanced planetarium in Poland was opened in Łódź. A big screen is mounted under the outside dome. The dome is hemispherical in shape with a diameter of 14 metres. Beneath the dome there is an amphitheatre for the audience of 110 spectators.

The Planetarium is equipped with a stateof-the-art multimedia system allowing to project 8K images. This image quality enables to prepare planetarium shows of the highest quality. High picture quality is complemented with Dolby surround sound. The Planetarium and the cinema room have been equipped with Luis Wassmann loudspeakers. In each room the 5.1 sound feedback system is installed, and thanks to that high resolution images are accompanied by sound surrounding the spectator, which creates unforgettable impressions.
